Internship Title: Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) Scholars Program
Organization: AFRL, Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR)

Type: Paid (stipend)
Eligibility: High school students at least 16 years old at the time of application; U.S. citizens only; cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher highly recommended; must be able to work 40 hours per week, temporarily relocate to the worksite, arrange their own transportation, and pass a background check
Application Deadline: Applications open October 10 and close January 10 for the following summer
Program Dates: Eight weeks over the summer
Overview
The AFRL Scholars Program places high school students in stipend-paid summer research internships with the Air Force Research Laboratory. At the AFOSR site in Arlington, VA, scholars work alongside Air Force scientists and engineers on real research projects across a range of STEM fields.
The program is open to upper-level high school students as well as undergraduate and graduate students, and runs for eight weeks each summer.
