Internship Title: Space High School Internship Program

‍Location: Herndon, VA

‍Eligibility: Must be at least 16 years old by the internship start date, currently enrolled at a local high school, and live within commutable distance of the Herndon facility. Applicants should demonstrate knowledge of and passion for STEM careers. High school seniors graduating in May are not eligible.

‍Application Deadline: Applications for the Summer 2027 program open November 2, 2026 and close January 3, 2027

‍Program Dates: 9+ weeks over the summer (June–August 2027)

Overview

Lockheed Martin's Space High School Internship Program pairs students with aerospace scientists and engineers working on real space systems and defense technology projects. Interns also take part in on-the-job training, mentoring, professional development workshops, community service, networking events, and facility tours.
