Internship Title: High School Internship Program

Organization: Urban Alliance

Location: Serves the Baltimore and Greater DC regions

Eligibility: Open to high school seniors. Applicants apply through the region-specific application for the Greater DC Region or Baltimore.

Program Dates: Year-long, beginning senior year — part-time during the school year (up to 12 hours/week, Monday–Thursday) and full-time in the summer (up to 32 hours/week, Monday–Thursday), including about six weeks of pre-employment job skills training

Overview

Urban Alliance combines paid internships with mentoring and skills training to help high school seniors build a strong path into college or the workforce. Each intern is paired with a program lead and a one-on-one workplace mentor, and takes part in weekly post-high-school planning and job/life skills workshops throughout the year. Urban Alliance reports a 100% high school graduation rate among participants, with over 90% going on to college.
