Internship Title: TeenWorks Employment Program

Location: Montgomery County, MD (placements across Recreation, Afterschool programs, Communications, HR, Finance, and other county departments)
Type: Paid
Eligibility: Must be a Montgomery County resident and current high school student; must be available to work a full year in the program
Application Deadline: Spring/Summer: January 2–March 30; Fall/Winter: August 1–November 30
Program Dates: Full-year commitment. Maximum hours vary by grade — up to 350 hours for 9th graders and 200–300 hours for 10th–12th graders. Schedule varies by site and can include weekdays, evenings, or weekends
Overview
TeenWorks places Montgomery County high school students in paid public sector and nonprofit roles throughout the county, with mentorship from career professionals. Participants get job readiness training and ongoing skill-building workshops alongside their placement.
Day-to-day work varies by site and can include creating promotional materials, conducting market research, maintaining park grounds, organizing program activities, delivering surveys, providing customer service, and helping set up events.
